Scope of Work
Every project starts with a short consultation so we can agree on what is being built. Once we are aligned, I will send you a written quote that lists each line item from my rate list, the total, and the timeline. That written quote is the scope. Anything not listed is a separate line item and will be quoted before it starts.
Small clarifications during a build are normal and are included. Large changes to scope, such as adding new pages, new sections, or new features after the quote is accepted, are billed as new line items.
Deposit & Payment
A 10 percent deposit is required to begin work on any website or brand project. The deposit reserves your spot on my calendar and is non refundable once work begins.
If you have already paid for the $150 written website audit, that fee becomes your deposit and comes off the total project cost. No separate 10 percent deposit is required in that case.
The remaining balance is due on completion, before the site goes live or the final files are delivered. For projects over $2,000, the balance can be split into two payments if arranged in writing before we start.
I accept payment by Zelle, check, or cash. Invoices are sent as a PDF and payment is due within 14 days of the final invoice unless otherwise agreed.
Revisions
Every website build includes one round of revisions after the first full draft is delivered. That round covers copy edits, image swaps, color and layout tweaks, and small adjustments.
Additional revision rounds are billed at $50 per round. Ongoing back and forth beyond the first round is covered under the design consultation line ($650) if you want unlimited edits during the build.
Timeline
Standard websites are delivered within two weeks from the day the deposit is paid and all your content is in my hands. Most builds land sooner. Larger scopes with e commerce, custom features, or multi brand systems will be quoted with their own timeline in writing.
If content is delayed on your side, the timeline pauses until the content arrives. I will keep you updated by text or email throughout the build.
Domain Ownership
If I register your domain on your behalf, I will hold it under my account during the build so I can point the DNS and set up email and hosting cleanly.
Once the website is paid in full, you may purchase the domain from me at cost plus a one time transfer fee, or you can keep it under my care as part of an ongoing maintenance plan. Either way, the domain is yours once the site is paid off. I will not hold your domain hostage.
If you already own your domain when we start, nothing changes. You keep it under your account and I will just need temporary access to point the records.
Maintenance Plans
After launch, you have three options.
No plan. Your site is yours and it will keep running on its own. If you want changes later, you can pay hourly or per line item from the rate list at the time.
Monthly plan — $75 per month. Includes hosting oversight, small content updates, image swaps, and minor tweaks up to about one hour of work each month. Larger changes are billed separately. Cancel anytime with 30 days notice.
Yearly plan — $750 per year. Same coverage as the monthly plan, prepaid for the year. You save two months compared to paying monthly. Includes one bigger seasonal refresh each year at no extra cost.
Bigger scopes, such as monthly redesigns or ongoing marketing work, are quoted separately from these plans.
Ownership & Files
Once your project is paid in full, all deliverables belong to you. That includes the final website files, logo files, brand assets, and any custom graphics I made for your project. I will send you a folder with everything at handoff.
I retain the right to display the finished work in my portfolio and on my social channels unless you specifically ask me not to.
Any stock resources, fonts, or third party plugins used in your project remain licensed under their original terms. I will note anything relevant in the handoff folder.
Content & Copy
You provide the words, photos, and any assets specific to your business. If you do not have photos, I offer a photo session as a separate line item on the rate list.
You are responsible for the accuracy of any text or claims on your site. I will proofread and flag anything that reads oddly, but I cannot fact check details about your business.
Cancellation
You can cancel a project at any time. If you cancel before work begins, your deposit is refunded in full. If you cancel after work has started, the deposit is retained and any hours or line items already completed are billed at the rate list price.
If I need to cancel for any reason on my side, I will refund the deposit and any unearned payments in full and hand off whatever work has been completed to date.
Communication
I work solo, so all communication comes straight from me. Text and email work best, with text being the fastest way to reach me. I watch for messages throughout the week, including evenings and weekends. I may not always be able to sit down and work on your project the moment you message, but I will answer as soon as I see it, and if I can work through your request right then I will.
If a project stalls on the client side for more than 60 days without contact, I reserve the right to close the project and invoice for work completed to date. The project can be reopened later as a new engagement.
Warranty & Support
I stand behind my work. If something I built breaks on its own within 30 days of launch, I will fix it at no charge. This does not cover changes you or a third party make after launch, or issues caused by outside services (hosting providers, payment gateways, third party plugins).
After the 30 day window, fixes and updates fall under a maintenance plan or are billed per line item.
Governing Terms
